In 2010, SIA has changed the training needed to obtain the SIA license, by upgrading it with extra-modules (Physical Intervention and First Aid).

This course is now a mandatory requirement for all Door Supervisors in the UK.  It is one day training, called “Up-Skilling for Door Supervisors”, containing two units (Safety Awareness and Physical Intervention Skills) and costs £80 – £100. If your Door Supervision qualification was obtained prior to October 2010 you will need this top-up training to renew your SIA License.

Provided that you have only obtained a Physical Intervention qualification since your original Door Supervisor course, you would need to pass the Safety Awareness unit in order to gain the Up-Skilling Door Supervisors qualification.

A list of training providers and telephone numbers is provided on the SIA website:

As a company, we wish to offer efficient support to our staff. We are currently collect details about any staff interested in this training, aiming to obtain a good deal from one of those training providers.

Please email us your interest in this project, whether you are a Door Supervisor or a Training Provider.
